Transport
Bratislava, the capital city of the Slovak Republic, is situated in the Central Europe. It lies on the both banks of Danube River, the second largest river in Europe and on the slopes of the Small Carpathian Mountain.
Bratislava is located on the border of three countries; it neighbors with Hungary on the south and Austria on the west. Its distance from Vienna is only 60 km.
Air Transport
Close to Bratislava are located two international airports - the international Milan Rastislav tefánik airport in the city periphery and the international Airport Schwechat in Vienna around 45 km from Bratislava.
The international Milan Rastislav tefánik Airport is the largest international airport in the Slovak Republic. It provides the regular flight connection with the most important European destinations. Annually are transported through Bratislava Airport more than 1,3 mil. passengers and the number of passengers and regular flights rapidly grow.

The distance of Schwechat International Airport in Vienna from Bratislava is only 45 km and by the international auto route E58 is accessible in 45 minutes. From Bratislava city centre (bus station Mlynské Nivy) operates each hour the regular bus connection, connecting Milan Rastislav tefánik international airport in Bratislava with international airport Schwechat in Vienna.
Road Transport (car, bus)
Bratislava in linked to the international routes and highways; through highway E65 to Czech Republic, highway D-2 to Hungary through the international routes E75 and E58 to Austria.
The international route E 58 connects Bratislava with the international airport Schwechat in Vienna and route E75 continues through Slovakia farther to Poland and Ukraine.
Through the city leads the dense network of roads and traffic junctions. Bratislava represents the most important traffic junction of the Slovak Republic not only in road transport.
At present is constructed the by-pass highway in order to relieve to the traffic jam in the city centre. In spite of this in Bratislava you would not see the huge traffic jams known from many large European cities. The regular international and domestic transport is provided by company SAD,a.s.
At present division Eurolines provides the regular links within the international bus transport from Bratislava to the following destinations: Prague, Brussels, London, Venice, Munich, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Vienna, Köln, Dortmund, Paris, Zurich, Geneva, Hamburg, Györ, Nice, Makarska, Utrecht, Nantes, Bordeaux, Amsterdam, Salzburg, Milan, Marseille.

Train transport
Bratislava is the international railway traffic junction, in which meet railway routes from Czech Republic, Poland, Austria, Hungary and Ukraine. From the Czech Republic and Germany these are the routes from Berlin and Dresden via Prague and Brno. In the direction from Poland Bratislava is linked to the international railway corridor directed from Warsaw and Katowice via Ostrava, Břeclav and Kúty to Bratislava.
The railway connection exists also between Bratislava and Budapest. From the neighboring European metropolises Bratislava has the best links are with Vienna. At present is prepared the project of interconnection both neighboring international airports and metropolises within the scope of the project Twin City Vienna-Bratislava.
Also by railway Bratislava is the leaving point to towns and villages all over Slovakia. Two main railway routes are built - northern and southern ones.
The northern route connects Bratislava with Koice through High Tatras and the southern through Zvolen and Banská Bystrica.
Regular connection to Bratislava and Vienna leads via railway station Bratislava/Petralka, from which are leaving the regular connections each hour.

Boat transport
International Boat Port on Danube secures both-sided connection of Bratislava to the international boat transport, namely the connection from the Northern Sea through channel Rhine Man Danube far to the Black Sea.
Bratislava Boat Port is located directly in the city centre near the pedestrian zone, important historical monuments as well as countless number of agreeable restaurants and cafes.
Passenger transport exploits the port especially for the purposes of voyages and vacation trips to Devin castle, Hainburg, Vienna and to the opposite direction to hydroelectric power plant Gabčíkovo and to Budapest.
Since summer 2006 started to operate between Bratislava and Vienna the new comfortable and fast traffic connection TWIN CITY LINER. It is a boat connection by fast catamaran ship, connecting Vienna centre with Bratislava centre in 75 minutes. In Vienna was chosen as the departure and arrival station centrally situated Schwedenplatz, exit at Marienbrück; in Bratislava catamaran ship stops in passenger boat port directly in city centre.
Besides the speed 60km/hour the boat offers not only the fast ride adventure, but also the travel comfort. The catamaran ship is fully air-conditioned, equipped by finest seats, panoramic windows and panoramic terrace. The passengers can have refreshment in a boat buffet.

Public transport
In Bratislava is a dense network of the public transport links, operating in the regular intervals according to timetable graphic. Timetable graphics (departures times) of the relevant links are located at each stop of the public transport.
